Slegers Specialty Crops is looking for a Full Time Ginseng Farm Labour Assistant to join their team. April 2022 start! 

This is a student position, hired through the Canada Summer Jobs Grant.

Duties

• Will train – no experience needed
• Ability to work on your own
• Leadership Skills in a supervisory capacity an asset
• Maintenance work – minor repairs, oil changes
• Install shade cloth and remove
• Use of powered tractors, buggies, power tools and hand tools
• Weeding crops
• Fork straw on crops
• Installation of irrigation and sprinklers system
• Harvesting, washing and packaging
• Seed preparation
• Performance Incentives

Qualifications

• Tractor and forklift experience an asset but not required
• Must be able to perform consistent, heavy lifting
• Proper footwear is required

Hours: 40 hours a week, up to 55 hours a week, mostly Monday – Friday, sometimes Saturdays.

Wage: Dependent on skills and experience
