JCT Metals Inc. in Strathroy is looking for a General Labourer to join our growing team. We are a growing company with plenty of opportunity to advance within.

Reports To: Shop Manager or Shop Supervisor

Experience in Miscellaneous Metals, Structural Steel, and Custom Steel Fabrication will be considered an asset

Duties

• Moving, securing, loading, and unloading building materials from trucks
• Effective use of heavy and light equipment (Forklift and Overhead Cranes)
• Cleaning and painting steel beams and other steel material
• Safety awareness and the safe operation of power tools, grinders, ironworker, CNC Python and plasma table
• Able to work within a team environment
• Maintain a clean and safe work area. Ensure all tools, materials and equipment are put away after use
• Other tasks as required by shop supervisor
• Work independently with minimum supervision, for a minimum of 40 hours per week
• Work flexible hours if required
• Work safely and responsibly within the Company rules & regulations

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency using a tape measure
• Punctual and reliable
• Ability to work overtime, if required

Salary: $18.00-$21.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift (Mon-Thu 7am-4:30pm, Fri 7am-2:30pm)
• Night shift (Mon-Thu 4:30pm-3:30am)

Supplemental pay types:

• Overtime pay

• Strathroy, ON N7G 4J5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
