Are you an experienced MIG Welder looking for steady work in Aylmer, Ontario? Staff Plus is recruiting welders for a hands-on weld shop opportunity paying $30.00 per hour, with both day shift and afternoon shift openings available.

In this role, you will perform MIG welding on steel parts, weld fitted components, support production flow, and help ensure work meets quality and production standards. A welding ticket is not required, and candidates will complete an onsite evaluation as part of the hiring process.

Pay Rate: $30.00/Hour + $1.00 Shift Premium for Afternoon Shift

Hours: 

Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Afternoon Shift: 4:00 PM – 3:00 AM, 4 shifts per week

What You’ll Do:

• Inspect incoming material
• Finish welding of assigned parts as per the drawings supplied for the specific part
• Under supervision of the Weld Shop Coordinator, Junior Welder Fitter and/or Welder Fitter, the Ticketed Welder may install parts that are not considered critical fit up.
• Repair any deficiencies found during the inspection
• Use fit up tools including the job table
• Welding must be completed in accordance with applicable standards and procedures
• Ensure part is complete and ready for the next step in the production process
• Guiding and liaising with other employees in their area
• Gride and clean using a wire wheel
• Execute all the weld procedures required in the welding area, including necessary preparation, such as grinding or arc air
• Ensure work area is kept clean and clear of hazards
• Ensure correct information is recorded in time and attendance system
• Ensure production information is recorded in the in-process quality system
• Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner
• Proper use of shop supplies

Requirements:

• Execute all the weld procedures required in the welding area, including the necessary preparation, such as grinding or arc air
• Understand welding procedures and practices including welding symbols
• Grind and clean using a wire wheel
• Be able to perform basic visual weld inspections appearance, fusion, penetration, etc.
• Reading and interpreting drawings
• Understand material characteristics and requirements (i.e.: thickness, width, sweep and camber tolerances)
• Operation and limitation of all machinery and equipment in area
• Be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation as per the Physical Demands Analysis
• Material handling techniques (use of cranes, slings, etc)
• Must have your own welding shield
• Must have CSA-approved steel-toed boots
• Secondary school diploma or high school equivalent as a minimum
• Maintain a level of education necessary to keep pace with new manufacturing technology and company requirements
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and work full time hours as required by this position
