Foodland in Lucan is looking for a Meat Manager to join their team. 

The Meat Manager is responsible for the efficient and fiscally responsible operation of the department.  The Manager will lead and manage staff to achieve the highest level of customer service, while adhering to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, policies and Health and Safety, and other programs and initiatives. The Manager will also manage budgets, labour costs, inventory control, product presentation and merchandising. The Meat Manager will ensure superior customer service experience by coaching and developing a friendly, well-trained staff. Actively contributes to an environment of employee and customer engagement.


  • Responsible for Superior Service goals of the Department
  • Supervise department staff to include scheduling, training and assigning duties
  • Implement all merchandising programs
  • Ensure standards of Department presentation and operations are met; including cleanliness and sanitation, inventory control, rotation, quality, ordering, variety standards, signing, seasonal schematic
  • Ensure the Department has the highest quality of product available for the customer
  • Monitor to ensure variety standards are followed, as well as 100% compliance on ad item display
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned by management
  • Responsible for the sales and profitability of the Department


  • Meat cutting certificate from a post-secondary institute OR Minimum of one year meat cutting experience, Previous management experience preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Possess strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Stand for long periods of time
  • Work in a cold work environment
  • Possess strong product knowledge
