SUPERVISOR, ASSEMBLY

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise production employee related processes including vacation scheduling, overtime scheduling, motivation training, performance appraisals, discipline and health and safety
  • Maintain employee safety and attendance records
  • Delegate work to direct reports
  • Provide training to employees
  • Supervise work schedules and ensure production targets are achieved daily
  • Responsible for department budget
  • Create and maintain accurate and efficient work instructions
  • Maintain department cleanliness and work in an organized manner
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements to departmental operations, streamline work processes
  • Follow and enforce all safe work practices and work in accordance with company policies, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and applicable regulations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a direct related role
  • Ability to execute on short term objectives while ensuring completion of daily, weekly and monthly departmental functions
  • Strong people management skills and leadership skills
  • Excellent change management, organization and problem solving skills
  • Effective written/verbal communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to organize and manage projects
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office; knowledge of Smarteam and Navision applications an asset
  • Ability to research facts prior to taking action or making a decision

  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours as required
  • Commitment to product integrity and safety
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions and technical drawings
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude
  • Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Aviation experience an asset
  • College Diploma or equivalent
  • Diploma in the Aviation or Aerospace field considered an asset
